THE MISSION
South Hills Children’s Choir, a non-profit youth community choir, provides quality music education and artistic excellence through a variety of choral experiences and performances. SHCC enriches the lives of our many unique singers through personal and social growth. SHCC promotes a sense of discipline and accomplishment by developing well-rounded musical skill. At the core of instruction is healthy vocal technique, musicality, and the diverse repertoire of all communities, cultures, and centuries. SHCC instruction foundational and lifelong relationship between the singer and the musical arts.
Canticle
Our training choir for ages 8 -10.
In our non-audition preparatory chorus, young singers begin solfege, unison singing, rounds and canons, and beginning vocal technique. Every lesson is hands-on, Kodàly and Suzuki based. This choir performs in our Winter and Spring Concerts, with two additional Spring performances.
Canticle meets Thursdays, 5:00 - 6:00 pm, during the season.
No Audition Required!

Intermediate choir for ages 11-13.
A singer must pass a brief audition to be a part of Concordia. This level participates in intermediate choral literature, with descants and up to three parts. Singers advance in solfege, theory, and musicianship. This choir performs 5-6 times a year, including our Winter and Spring Concerts.
Concordia meets Thursdays, 5:00 - 6:30 pm, during the season.
Audition required for acceptance.

Cadenza
Advanced choir for ages 14-18.
Our advanced youth choir performs 4- part music. Advanced music theory, solfege, and Bel Canto vocal technique are taught. This group tours and sings for special community events, demonstrating maturity, poise, and musical eloquence. Some previous music experience is strongly encouraged.
Cadenza meets Thursdays, 6:15 - 8:00 pm, during the season.
Audition required for acceptance. Bring a prepared solo.
