Meet the Artistic DirectorJennie Nolan, Founder and Artistic Director of the South Hills Children's Choir, loves inspiring kids to sing! She received her BMusEd in Voice from Biola University, her M.M. in Choral Conducting from Messiah University, and is Kodaly-certified. After 6 years as a music and English instructor in the public school, Mrs. Nolan joined the staff of the San Diego Children's Choir, where she fell in love with community choral music. She has led various church choirs in addition to teaching band, classroom music, writing, English, and homeschooling her girls. Jennie has sung and conducted under Drs. William Lock, Caron Daley, Susan Medley, Kathy Hickey, Rachel Cornacchio, Joy Meade, and Mr. Loren Wiebe.
Jennie has also sung with the Pittsburgh Camerata, Bach Choir, and other local choral groups and leads the William Billings Singers. She attends and assists with music activities at View Crest Church, teaches voice at the Pittsburgh Music Academy, and teaches music and writing to 3rd through 11th graders at Blackburn Study Center. She loves to run, bake, travel, and sing for and with her husband and four daughters. Meet the CONCORDIA DIRECTORMeghan Hilker is a native to the South Hills who grew up singing and performing around the Pittsburgh area. She has her B.M. from Penn State and M.M. from The University of Wisconsin-Madison, both in vocal performance. She studied at the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria and has performed with small opera companies around the country. Meghan served as the adjunct professor of voice at Ripon College in Ripon, Wisconsin and was the musical director and vocal coach for summer sessions at The Children's Theater of Madison. She taught voice and piano privately for over 10 years to students of all ages. Along with creating and music making, Meghan works full-time as a staff accountant, and enjoys gardening, camping, paddle boarding, and hitting the trails with her chocolate lab.
